  • Dope dyed
  • For most textile companies, conventional dyeing is the process adhered to when coloring materials. However, the production and use of synthetic dyes pose a drastic consequence to the environment with its highly polluting factors. Not only does it severely damage the health of the workers involved in its production, it also harms those who wear clothes dyed with these chemicals.

This process involves the use of a great quantity of water ranging anywhere from 5 to 35 gallons for every pound of finished fabric. Every year, the global textile industry discharges 40,000 to 50,000 tons of dye and more than 200,000 tons of salt into our rivers. With this textile dyeing process, at least 72 toxic chemicals are being released into our water annually.

Since Globle-Tex took on the vow to protect the environment, we have adopted the method of dope dyeing, also known as solution dyeing. This process refers to the addition of masterbatch colors to the polymer melt during the extrusion phase of manufacturing synthetic filaments. The result is an eco-friendly, colorfast fiber. Other benefits include:
    • Superior color quality and consistency
    • Sustainable: Dispersed dyeing uses large quantities of water and requires effluent treatment to address the dye discharge. Solution dyeing processes does not require the use water, thereby reducing its environmental footprint.
    • Energy saving: Fiber spinning and coloring is done in one step versus two, without the use of water, which offering additional energy savings.
